ChatGPT bids farewell to GPT-4o, GPT-4.1, GPT-4.1 mini, and OpenAI o4-mini
OpenAI announced that on February 13, 2026, ChatGPT will remove GPT-4o, GPT-4.1, GPT-4.1 mini, and OpenAI o4-mini from its platform. This follows the previously announced retirement of GPT-5 variants including Instant, Thinking, and Pro. However, developers using the API are unaffected, as these older models will remain available through the API for the time being.
On February 13, 2026, ChatGPT will remove several older AI models from the platform. In addition to the already-announced phase-out of GPT-5 (Instant, Thinking, and Pro), the company will also retire GPT-4o, GPT-4.1, GPT-4.1 mini, and OpenAI o4-mini. If you use the API, nothing changes for now—those models remain available there as usual.
